Our residential conference is taking place during the Autumn term 2019 and is open to all Camden Deputy and Assistant Headteachers.

Aims and Objectives

With its beautiful seafront, quirky shops and incredible range of entertainment, Brighton is a very special city. The Brighton Harbour Hotel and Spa is located just a few minutes from the Pier, and fifteen minutes from the train station on foot.

The conference will be an opportunity to engage with leaders from across Camden with a host of exciting guest speakers. Speaking across a range of topics including the well-being agenda, inclusive leadership and social mobility, all based around the overarching theme of the curriculum.

Dr Andy Cope describes himself as a qualified teacher, author, happiness expert and recovering academic. In times of rising depression and an epidemic of ‘busyness’, Andy believes there has never been a more appropriate time to raise the wellbeing agenda.

Professor Sonia Blandford, founder and CEO of the national charity Achievement for All 3As, uses her three decades of experience to share with audiences the lessons she has gleaned as one of the UK's leading
practitioners of education within the voluntary, community, charity and public sectors. She focuses on providing the leadership in schools to create equal chances for all. Sonia is a passionate believer in all children being able to make progress regardless of the challenges they face.

Becky Allen is Chief Analyst and a co-founder of Teacher Tapp, she is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. An economist by training and former secondary school teacher, she is an expert in the analysis of large datasets. In 2018, she chaired a Government working group to review how data is used in schools.
