Mental Health Leads.
What does this event cover
We look forward to welcoming you to the first Mental Health Leads Network meeting. We hope the Network will become a regular support for you. The Network meeting is an opportunity for you to meet other Mental Health Leads, share what you are doing, discuss challenges and develop good ideas and strategies to help you in your role. The first meeting will focus on the role of the mental health lead and we will also hear from a Mental Health expert around a key issue affecting children and young people today.

Setting up and Using a Workstation for Children with SEND

Who is this event for

It is expected that the attending staff member at your setting will be involved in:

Setting up and maintaining a workstation for a child with additional needs, particularly those with Autism and Social Communication needs
Developing and practicing new tasks for the workstation.

What does this event cover
This half-day training is designed to give you practical strategies for setting up and using a workstation, particularly for children with Autism or social communication needs.

Attendees will understand:

- What a workstation is.
- How to set a workstation up.
- How to track a child’s progress.
- How to adapt activities.
- Tips on what to avoid.
- Tips on how to be successful.

Teaching RSE to Years 5 and 6

Who is this event for
Class teachers of Years 5 and 6.
What does this event cover
The training will enable teachers to be confident to teach RSE. By the end of the training teachers will:

  • Know what to teach at Year 5 and 6
  • Have a scheme of work with a range of activities and resources for teaching RSE
  • Have developed skills and confidence for teaching RSE
  • Have strategies for dealing with questions and managing discussions 
  • The training will take account of the new DfE guidance on Relationships Education

Writing Moderation for Year 2

Year 2 teachers.
What does this event cover
These are twilight sessions to support teachers with the end of key stage assessments in writing.

There will be an opportunity for Year 2 teachers to work together moderating their children’s writing against national standards.
