Early Years Forum

For managers and leaders of Early Years Settings.


What does this event cover
This term we will be holding a virtual forum that offers the opportunity to hear about DfE and Ofsted updates as well as new developments in early years, both in Camden and nationally. These forums are a useful resource to help you support and improve your practice alongside the opportunity to network with other early years colleagues from different sectors.

During this event:

  • Rachel Isted - Health Improvement Practitioner, will be attending this event to discuss: Camden Little Steps to Healthy Lives and Healthy Early Years London. (15mins)
  • The Early Years Quality Support and Training Team will be discussing Ofsted's plans to resume inspections

First Aid at Work

Who is this event for
The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace. Successful candidates will learn how to manage a range of injuries and illnesses that could occur at work and will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give emergency first aid.
What does this event cover
The role and responsibilities of a first aider; assessing an incident; managing an unresponsive casualty; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs); recovery position; heart attack; stroke; chocking; epilepsy; asthma, diabetes; anaphylaxis shock; head and spinal injuries; chest injuries; wounds and bleeding; fractures; sprains, strains and dislocations; minor injuries; burns and scalds; poisoning; eye injuries.

Primary Resource Reviews for teaching PSHE (Cancelled)

Who is this event for
PSHE leads in primary and special schools-particularly teachers new to the role and those who would like to further develop their knowledge and skills.
What does this event cover
A two part training that will enable PSHE leads to increase their knowledge and skills to confidently manage and lead PSHE and citizenship in their schools.

The training covers how to:

  • plan and implement high quality teaching and learning
  • plan easy to use curriculum and schemes of work
  • find good resources
  • implement assessment in PSHE
  • monitor and evaluate PSHE
  • meet Ofsted expectations
  • develop policy
  • support staff
Please note
There are two parts to the training, but participants can attend just one or both. Participants will have the opportunity to visit PSHE leads in other schools in between the two training days.
