Childminding Advisory Meeting

What does this event cover

This term we will be holding virtual advisory meetings where you can have face to face conversations, share ideas and experiences, as well as discuss questions you might have and topics of interest.


These meetings are a platform to come together, talk as a group and discuss topics in break out rooms together. The topics are up to you – you decide what you would like to discuss.


Following government guidance Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak (Updated 27 July 2020)


3.5 Are settings allowed to invite visitors and non-staff members such as speech and language therapists or parents for stay and play.


Wherever possible, settings and childminders are encouraged to avoid visitors entering their premises.
Therefore, early years advisors have no immediate plans to visit settings, however they are available for support at all times and while they are unable these meetings provide a platform for face to face conversations

What does this event cover
A 45 minute online opportunity to gain tips for teaching sensitive aspects of RSHE and discuss good practice examples.

The Autumn PSHE Dilemma will cover “how do you teach about the impact of pornography on relationships”?

The Spring PSHE Dilemma will cover “How do you teach students to make healthy and informed choices in their online life”? spotting fake news, impact of unhealthy or obsessive comparison with others online, being a discerning consumer, knowing the risks of online gambling

PSHE Coordinators will be consulted about the topic in the Summer term
