The training is for all staff but will be particularly useful for Senior Leaders, Inclusion Leads and PSHE Coordinators.
What does this event cover
The training will cover:

  • Why celebrating difference and challenging gender stereotypes is important for pupils in EYFS, KS1 and 2
  • Practical ideas and activities to use in the classroom and across the whole school 
  • Gender, gender identity and key definitions
  • What primary schools can do to be LGBT inclusive 
  • Ideas for preventing and managing homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying and language 
  • Strategies for managing some of the issues this work raises

Fire Warden Training

Safe I.S. qualified instructors are affiliated to the institute of Fire Engineers and provide a comprehensive Fire Safety Training course at your own premises, allowing companies to comply with current legislation and Fire Risk Assessments, This enables employees to meet their statutory insurance obligations and to protect staff and property under current Health and Safety Regulations (The 2005 Fire Regulatory Reform Act).
What does this event cover
Essential Training for Every Workplace

This course covers many aspects of a building evacuation including; Means of Escape, The Responsible Person, Fire Warden Responsibilities, Fire Telephones, Health and Safety Legislation and use of portable fire extinguishers.

The training officer will talk in detail about the premises with the trainees while conducting a walk around the building identifying escape routes, fire fighting equipment, suitable muster points and fire brigade access/liaison to deliver the best course relevant to your place of work.

Practical Fire Extinguisher Training

Including as part of the training course is a practical session where attendees will have hands-on experience with different types and sizes of fire extinguishers, their functionality and how they handle. This will then be utilised to extinguish a controlled demonstration fire using a specially designed ‘Fire Rig’.

Free - Training for Childminders who are delivering the Early Education Funding

This training is for Childminders who are delivering the Early Education funding for 2, 3 and 4 year old children.

From the summer term 2019 childminders have been asked to use the Provider Portal to submit hours for funded children in addition to the headcount information.
What does this event cover



This training session will demonstrate how to submit the correct hours and how to amend the hours when more funded children join your provision within the same term.

This training will also explain the payment process which is dependent on the hours submitted.
You will also have an opportunity to ask questions about the funding.

Please try to attend this training as we will not be holding another one and all future support will need to take place over the telephone or by email.

Who is this event for

For all practitioners and childminders working with children aged 0 - 5.

What does this event cover
Language and communication needs are considered ‘high incidence’ needs and are therefore the remit of all practitioners. This day is particularly useful for new practitioners.

This language and communication course aims to develop skills and identify and support children with speech, language and communication needs in early years settings.

We will discuss:
- Developmental ages and stages of speech, language and communication (birth to five).
- How to recognise a child with a speech, language or communication difficulty.
- The communication skills of children learning more than one language.
- Strategies used to support language learning for all children.
- How to reduce the impact of speech, language and communication difficulties on the child.
- What makes a communication friendly environment.
