Who is this event for
This workshop is suitable for anyone working in the Early Years who would like an introduction to the principles of respectful, gentle care and how this encourages autonomous natural development and play.
What does this event cover
Emmi Pickler was an innovative educator working in Hungary whose principled approach to the care of the very young baby and child has been a growing influence on education globally. This workshop is an opportunity to receive an introduction to the main principles of the Pickler Approach which, with its emphasis on close nurturing care and attachment combined with the encouragement of self-initiated and autonomous physical play and development is extremely compatible with the highest aims of the EYFS: for us to support each child as a competent individual with their own rhythms and unique needs towards being a confident, competent and self-regulated learner. This workshop will focus on evidence of the benefits of the Pickler approach with children from birth to three and allow us to reflect on how we might introduce these principles within our own practice
