Annual Mental Health Leads Training: Supporting Wellbeing for Education

What does this event cover
The annual Mental Health Leads’ training is an opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills as Leads.

To accommodate schools at this time, the training will be virtual and be from 9.30-11.00, rather than a whole day.

This training will focus on how to support mental health and wellbeing, as a whole school approach, covering content from the Wellbeing Return to Education webinars.

If you have attended those webinars you may want other staff in your school to attend this session.

What does this event cover
A 45 minute online opportunity to gain tips for teaching sensitive aspects of RSHE and discuss good practice examples.

The Autumn PSHE Dilemma will cover “how do you teach about the impact of pornography on relationships”?

The Spring PSHE Dilemma will cover “How do you teach students to make healthy and informed choices in their online life”? spotting fake news, impact of unhealthy or obsessive comparison with others online, being a discerning consumer, knowing the risks of online gambling

PSHE Coordinators will be consulted about the topic in the Summer term

Secondary SENDCO Forum

Who is this event for
SENDCOs in Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges.
What does this event cover
These meetings will support SENDCOs, Inclusion managers and deputy SENDCOs in their role.

We will draw on the expertise and skills in Camden schools (emphasising peer support) as well as on specialist services and teams.

We will cover issues such as improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, self-evaluation of SEND provision in schools, statutory requirements e.g. EHC Assessment and Plan, Annual Reviews, SEN funding, identification and assessment, planning, support from specialist services, Independent Support (SENDIASS), Interventions ' e.g. literacy, self-evaluation and improvement planning etc.

We will also be responsive to specific requests from SENDCOs.
