Who is this event for
For all practitioners and childminders working with children aged 0 - 5.
What does this event cover
Language and communication needs are considered ‘high incidence’ needs and are therefore the remit of all practitioners. This day is particularly useful for new practitioners.

This language and communication course aims to develop skills and identify and support children with speech, language and communication needs in early years settings.

We will discuss:
- Developmental ages and stages of speech, language and communication (birth to five).
- How to recognise a child with a speech, language or communication difficulty.
- The communication skills of children learning more than one language.
- Strategies used to support language learning for all children.
- How to reduce the impact of speech, language and communication difficulties on the child.
- What makes a communication friendly environment.
