Developing the role of the Primary PSHE Lead (Cancelled)

Who is this event for
PSHE leads in primary and special schools-particularly teachers new to the role and those who would like to further develop their knowledge and skills.
What does this event cover
A two part training that will enable PSHE leads to increase their knowledge and skills to confidently manage and lead PSHE and citizenship in their schools.

The training covers how to:

  • plan and implement high quality teaching and learning
  • plan easy to use curriculum and schemes of work
  • find good resources
  • implement assessment in PSHE
  • monitor and evaluate PSHE
  • meet Ofsted expectations
  • develop policy
  • support staff
Please note
There are two parts to the training, but participants can attend just one or both. Participants will have the opportunity to visit PSHE leads in other schools in between the two training days.

Fire Warden Training

Safe I.S. qualified instructors are affiliated to the institute of Fire Engineers and provide a comprehensive Fire Safety Training course at your own premises, allowing companies to comply with current legislation and Fire Risk Assessments, This enables employees to meet their statutory insurance obligations and to protect staff and property under current Health and Safety Regulations (The 2005 Fire Regulatory Reform Act).
What does this event cover
Essential Training for Every Workplace

This course covers many aspects of a building evacuation including; Means of Escape, The Responsible Person, Fire Warden Responsibilities, Fire Telephones, Health and Safety Legislation and use of portable fire extinguishers.

The training officer will talk in detail about the premises with the trainees while conducting a walk around the building identifying escape routes, fire fighting equipment, suitable muster points and fire brigade access/liaison to deliver the best course relevant to your place of work.

Practical Fire Extinguisher Training

Including as part of the training course is a practical session where attendees will have hands-on experience with different types and sizes of fire extinguishers, their functionality and how they handle. This will then be utilised to extinguish a controlled demonstration fire using a specially designed ‘Fire Rig’.

This is offered in the first instance, to recently qualified teachers who wish to sustain their professional development but is open to all primary practitioners.
What does this event cover
Irrespective of the subject area, understanding core principles of memory, of effective assessment and of creating a growth mind-set culture, all impact on effective teaching and learning. Delegates will be inspired to reflect upon how their teaching is set up and the culture they create in class. Kate will share both research and tried and tested approaches and activities.
