What does this event cover
These meetings will provide a forum for secondary literacy leaders to meet each other and exchange ideas and information between Camden schools. These termly sessions will support leaders to be more effective in their role and keep up to date with latest developments/initiatives.

SENCO Forum 1 - Assess, plan, do review cycle and how to complete a good quality CLIF application

Who is this event for

This session is appropriate for SENCOs new to the role, and will also be a useful refresher for more experienced SENCOs regarding Camden’s procedures and best practice
Childminders working with children with SEND

What does this event cover
This session if for all SENCOs in early years settings. It is an opportunity to share and acquire news and information about SEND issues and the role of the SENCO. The session allows for sharing and discussion of ideas and practice, as well as discussion around a particular area of interest. It will allow for you to keep in touch and up to date, as well as network with other SENCOs.

The focus of this session will provide an overview of the SEN Code of Practice and how it applies to Early Years settings. We will discuss the arrangements that settings must have in place to support children with SEND. We will discuss the importance of having a clear approach to identifying and responding to additional needs, and making effective provision in order to improve long term outcomes for children. We will discuss the ‘assess, plan, do, review’ cycle and they systems that settings should have in place to monitor the progress of children with additional needs.


We will also cover how to complete an effective ‘Camden Local Inclusion Funding (CLIF)’ application
