Starts: Monday 5 October 2020 - 14:00 - 15:00
Venue : Virtual CPD Session, Digital Classroom, Virtual CPD Session map

Heads of subjects and subject leads attend subject specific sessions.

Building on learners’ strengths achieved in primary school, secondary subject specialists discuss how exemplification of ‘age-expectations’ will aid their assessment of both progress and attainment. Through discussions around the evidence produced from common tasks, or assessment rubrics, teachers gain confidence in their judgements about progress and attainment.
What does this event cover
Meet subject specialists from other schools, share resources, ideas, confirm understanding, raise questions.
Please note
This session is part of the Secondary Moderation Package.

Supervised Brushing Programme - Dry Brushing update

Starts: Monday 5 October 2020 - 08:30 - 09:30
Venue : Virtual CPD Session, Digital Classroom, Virtual CPD Session map
Who is this event for
This free training is specifically for the Children centres, Nurseries and Schools involved in Supervised Tooth Programme (STP) as a training update following following the new guidance set out by PHE.
What does this event cover
This training update will focus on the new guideline sent out by PHE, please see below:
Updated guidance on EY settings, toothbrushing specifically mentioned (check section 3.6):  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-early-years-and-childcare-closures/coronavirus-covid-19-early-years-and-childcare-closures

3.6 Supervised toothbrushing programmes
PHE have confirmed that supervised toothbrushing programmes may be re-established within settings using the dry brushing method.

The wet brushing model is not recommended because it is considered more likely to risk droplet and contact transmission and offers no additional benefit to oral health over dry toothbrushing.

For information on the cleaning and storage of toothbrushes and storage systems, see the COVID-19: guidance for supervised toothbrushing programmes in early years and school settings.

If any settings are unable to attend the STP training update on the 5th Oct, they can contact Nicola at: nicola.ramnarine@nhs.net to facilitate training at an alternative time.
