What does this event cover
The course will cover:

The importance of business planning to support your ability to react positively to changes in Government policy (such as the 30 hours offer).

A simple business planning model to help you to think about the practical implications of offering or not offering the 30 hours provision, or not offering the 30 hours provision.

Financial planning:

How to undertake financial forecasting and modelling so that you are better able to understand the financial implications of offering or not offering the 30 hours provision.

Steps to improve financial management and sustainability.

Creating a marketing plan for the 30 hours offer.

Understanding your customers' needs and wants.

Describing your differentiators in an increasingly competitive market.

Cost effective marketing methods including social media.
Please note
You will come away from this workshop with "the bones" of a business plan which you can take away and finalise.

Participants are encouraged to bring with them any draft planning or modelling that they have already done and this can be reviewed on the day.

Each participant will also receive a free copy of "Building Your Early Years Business", a book by Jacqui Burke.

The training will enable teachers to be confident to teach RSE. By the end of the training teachers will:

  • Know what to teach at Year 5 and 6
  • Have a scheme of work with a range of activities and resources for teaching RSE
  • Have developed skills and confidence for teaching RSE
  • Have strategies for dealing with questions and managing discussions 
  • The training will take account of the new DfE guidance on Relationships Education
