What does this event cover
This term we will be holding a virtual forum that offers the opportunity to hear about DfE and Ofsted updates as well as new developments in early years, both in Camden and nationally. These forums are a useful resource to help you support and improve your practice alongside the opportunity to network with other early years colleagues from different sectors.

This network meeting is for Camden's Heads of Sixth Form.
What does this event cover
An opportunity for Sixth Form leads to discuss every aspect of Post-16 provision, for all mainstream Camden sixth forms, including colleges and academies.

How to ensure adequacy of curriculum provision for all , and how to make that provision good or outstanding; as well as giving an overview of government and LA thinking, regarding policy issues, and management, and teacher actions that work to raise the profile of post-16 students.

PSHE leads in primary and special schools-particularly teachers new to the role and those who would like to further develop their knowledge and skills.
What does this event cover
A two part training that will enable PSHE leads to increase their knowledge and skills to confidently manage and lead PSHE and citizenship in their schools.

The training covers how to:

  • plan and implement high quality teaching and learning
  • plan easy to use curriculum and schemes of work
  • find good resources
  • implement assessment in PSHE
  • monitor and evaluate PSHE
  • meet Ofsted expectations
  • develop policy
  • support staff
Please note
There are two parts to the training, but participants can attend just one or both. Participants will have the opportunity to visit PSHE leads in other schools in between the two training days.

What does this event cover
The Spring PSHE Dilemma will cover “How do you teach students to make healthy and informed choices in their online life”? spotting fake news, impact of unhealthy or obsessive comparison with others online, being a discerning consumer, knowing the risks of online gambling.

WRAP Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (Cancelled)

Who is this event for
All School Staff.
What does this event cover

  • To be aware of the Prevent Duty and your role within it
  • To know who may be vulnerable to radicalisation
  • To know how to spot the signs that someone may be being drawn into radicalisation
  • To know what to do when concerns are identified
Please note
All staff should update their knowledge on Prevent at least every 2 years
This training can also be run as a bespoke session in your school. Please contact jane.murphy@camden.gov.uk to discuss the needs and focus of your training and set a date.

As a priority area Camden has funding from the Home Office for a Prevent Education Manager who can deliver school focused training.

General training can also be accessed online or through CSCP. Experienced DSLs can also give updates
