What does this event cover
The language and communication course aims to develop skills in identify and supporting children with speech, language and communication needs in early years settings.
This course is particularly useful for new practitioners
Course outcomes: • To understand the developmental ages and stages of speech, language and communication (birth to five) • To understand Camden Kids Talk’s Top Ten Tips in supporting communication in the early years. • To understand what Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) are and how these impact on children in nursery. • To understand issues around Bilingualism with regards to Speech, Language and Communication. • To know and apply specific strategies to support children with SLCN and develop their communication skills. • To devise a personal goal around the use of a specific strategy to support a child with SLCN.
