The Characteristics of Effective Early Learning describe how children learn. These learning dispositions are needed for children to become successful lifelong learners.

This workshop will:

  • Explore ways in which practitioners can support the development of these skills in children

What does this event cover
These meetings will support SENDCOs, Inclusion managers and deputy SENDCOs in their role.

We will draw on the expertise and skills in Camden schools (emphasising peer support) as well as on specialist services and teams.

We will cover issues such as improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, self-evaluation of SEND provision in schools, statutory requirements e.g. EHC Assessment and Plan, Annual Reviews, SEN funding, identification and assessment, planning, support from specialist services, Independent Support (SENDIASS), Interventions ' e.g. literacy, self-evaluation and improvement planning etc.

We will also be responsive to specific requests from SENDCOs.

Fire Warden Training

Safe I.S. qualified instructors are affiliated to the institute of Fire Engineers and provide a comprehensive Fire Safety Training course at your own premises, allowing companies to comply with current legislation and Fire Risk Assessments, This enables employees to meet their statutory insurance obligations and to protect staff and property under current Health and Safety Regulations (The 2005 Fire Regulatory Reform Act).

Essential Training for Every Workplace

This course covers many aspects of a building evacuation including; Means of Escape, The Responsible Person, Fire Warden Responsibilities, Fire Telephones, Health and Safety Legislation and use of portable fire extinguishers.

The training officer will talk in detail about the premises with the trainees while conducting a walk around the building identifying escape routes, fire fighting equipment, suitable muster points and fire brigade access/liaison to deliver the best course relevant to your place of work.

Practical Fire Extinguisher Training

Including as part of the training course is a practical session where attendees will have hands-on experience with different types and sizes of fire extinguishers, their functionality and how they handle. This will then be utilised to extinguish a controlled demonstration fire using a specially designed ‘Fire Rig’.

Middle Leaders and Senior Leaders who would like to enhance their understanding of the role Global Concepts can play in shaping curriculum, teaching and learning.
What does this event cover
  • Participants will gain an understanding of what a concept is as an organising idea and mental construct
  • Understanding of the what and why of Concepts at different levels of scale - Global, Macro & Nested
  • Understanding of the benefits of engaging with Global Concepts (e.g. Rules, Systems, Culture) through the curriculum
