WRAP Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent

NQTs and Staff new to Camden
What does this event cover

  • To be aware of the Prevent Duty and your role within it
  • To know who may be vulnerable to radicalisation
  • To know how to spot the signs that someone may be being drawn into radicalisation
  • To know what to do when concerns are identified
Please note
All staff should update their knowledge on Prevent at least every 2 years. This training can also be run as a bespoke session in your school. Please contact jane.murphy@camden.gov.uk to discuss the needs and focus of your training and set a date.

As a priority area Camden has funding from the Home Office for a Prevent Education Manager who can deliver school focused training. General training can also be accessed online or through CSCP. Experienced DSLs can also give updates

Year 6 - Preparation for SATs

Year 6 teachers.
What does this event cover
This course is for teachers preparing pupils for end of key stage two statutory assessments.

Teachers will consider how to continue to provide a broad and balanced curriculum whilst addressing areas of need to ensure that pupils are prepared for end of year statutory tests.

Reading, writing and maths will be the areas of focus with an emphasis on quality assessment for learning and next steps teaching. By the end of the session teachers will be more secure in understanding the requirements of statutory assessment at the end of KS2. They will be given ideas and strategies to support them with their teaching to improve children’s outcomes.

facilitate and implement curriculum, shape teaching, and aid the move from knowing to a deep understanding within the process of learning.

Middle Leaders and Senior Leaders who would like to enhance their understanding of the role Global Concepts can play in shaping curriculum, teaching and learning.

First Aid at Work Requalification

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) Requalifying Course is specifically designed to allow first aiders to renew their first aid at work qualification when their certificate is due to expire.

During this 2 day course, candidates will have the opportunity to practise essential first aid procedures, as well as learn the latest techniques for dealing with emergency situations and managing injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
What does this event cover
The role and responsibilities of a first aider; assessing an incident; managing an unresponsive casualty; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs); recovery position; heart attack; stroke; chocking; epilepsy; asthma, diabetes; anaphylaxis shock; head and spinal injuries; chest injuries; wounds and bleeding; fractures; sprains, strains and dislocations; minor injuries; burns and scalds; poisoning; eye injuries.

Primary SENDCO Forum

SENDCOs in Primary Schools.
What does this event cover
These meetings will support SENDCOs, Inclusion managers and deputy SENDCOs in their role.

We will draw on the expertise and skills in Camden schools (emphasising peer support) as well as on specialist services and teams.

We will cover issues such as improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, self-evaluation of SEND provision in schools, statutory requirements e.g. EHC Assessment and Plan, Annual Reviews, SEN funding, identification and assessment, planning, support from specialist services, Independent Support (SENDIASS), Interventions ' e.g. literacy, self-evaluation and improvement planning etc.

We will also be responsive to specific requests from SENDCOs.
