facilitate and implement curriculum, shape teaching, and aid the move from knowing to a deep understanding within the process of learning.

Middle Leaders and Senior Leaders who would like to enhance their understanding of the role Global Concepts can play in shaping curriculum, teaching and learning.

  • Participants will gain an understanding of what a concept is as an organising idea and mental construct

First Aid at Work Requalification

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) Requalifying Course is specifically designed to allow first aiders to renew their first aid at work qualification when their certificate is due to expire.

During this 2 day course, candidates will have the opportunity to practise essential first aid procedures, as well as learn the latest techniques for dealing with emergency situations and managing injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
What does this event cover
The role and responsibilities of a first aider; assessing an incident; managing an unresponsive casualty; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs); recovery position; heart attack; stroke; chocking; epilepsy; asthma, diabetes; anaphylaxis shock; head and spinal injuries; chest injuries; wounds and bleeding; fractures; sprains, strains and dislocations; minor injuries; burns and scalds; poisoning; eye injuries.

Primary SENDCO Forum

What does this event cover
These meetings will support SENDCOs, Inclusion managers and deputy SENDCOs in their role.

We will draw on the expertise and skills in Camden schools (emphasising peer support) as well as on specialist services and teams.

We will cover issues such as improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, self-evaluation of SEND provision in schools, statutory requirements e.g. EHC Assessment and Plan, Annual Reviews, SEN funding, identification and assessment, planning, support from specialist services, Independent Support (SENDIASS), Interventions ' e.g. literacy, self-evaluation and improvement planning etc.

We will also be responsive to specific requests from SENDCOs.

The course will take place online using a digital platform. The login details will be circulated the day before each session is schedule to take place.

RE Network Meeting

What does this event cover
RE is an exciting, engaging and dynamic subject but one that some teachers often find challenging. These termly meetings are designed to offer help, advice and support for those responsible for managing and/or teaching RE in community schools in the London Borough of Camden.

Through this network, there will also be opportunities to celebrate and share existing good practice, find out about relevant events and resources (both locally and nationally) and time to focus on the key questions and concerns of the members themselves in collaboration with the course leader. The statutory syllabus for RE in Camden is supported by some exemplar schemes of learning and these sessions are also designed to enable participants to plan a programme for RE in their own schools that will shape the future of the subject in the years to come.

This initial session will explore in particular some of the main aspects of the role of the Subject Leader for RE with an emphasis on ensuring that all the relevant documentation is in place in each school.

The following aspects of the role will be addressed:
  • Auditing, Reviewing and Revising RE Documentation
  • Including Schemes Of Learning And Policy StatementsSupporting Colleagues and Monitoring Provision
  • Organising Existing Resources And/Or Selecting New Ones
  • Developing Your Own Subject Knowledge
  • Accessing Support, Including Professional Networks
  • Devising an Action Plan
The date and focus for the summer term meeting will be determined by those present at this initial meeting.
